The launch of the 'Bangabandhu-1' satellite was a monumental success for Bangladesh as a country. We have our leader Sheikh Hasina to thank for all the development milestones we were able to meet due to her diligence and brilliant leadership. Under her government, our country saw substantial infrastructural development, the most current one being the Padma Bridge. This structure has renewed the people of the country and has been able to portray the image of Bangladesh's economic competence to the world. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the main force to inspire the people to build Padma Bridge with the money of the people of Bangladesh. Challenging the World Bank's allegation of corruption in the construction of the Padma bridge, we are today on the verge of success.
On the issue of the Rohingya, the Prime Minister said, ‘... who is Hindu, who is Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, it is not a word here. We have seen fellow humans in need for shelter and provided them with the necessity on humanitarian grounds.’ On 21st September, 2017, in the 72nd session of the United Nations, the Prime Minister said," My heart is overwhelmed by the sadness of today. Because the eyes of the hungry frightened and persecuted Rohingyas are flowing repeatedly in my mind. We do not want war, want peace, we want economic development, not humanism, human welfare.” Such values of the Prime Minister have inspired the people. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spoke about humanitarian Bangladesh in many international forums. Her 'People's Empowerment' and 'Culture of Peace' was passed in support of 193 member states in the UN session on December 17, 2012.
Presently the picture of humanitarian and rich Bangladesh and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's innovative leadership-philosophy is described in greater detail to world leaders and media. British media has named Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as 'Mother of Humanity'. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, "I am fascinated by the economic development of Bangladesh, the world has a lot to learn from Sheikh Hasina." World Bank Executive Director Aparna Subramani said “Sheikh Hasina has taken Bangladesh to a proud position. This success story of Bangladesh is an example for other countries.” Sheikh Hasina is one of the top 100 intellectuals and one of the 100 among influential leaders of the world. The Statisticians International, a Singapore-based international research organization, termed Sheikh Hasina as the world's second best Prime Minister. The world's leading Mother Teresa Medal, World Food Organization's Cesare Medal, UNESCO Peace Prize Award, United Nations Environmental Champion of the Earth Award and Daughter of Democracy Medal has been awarded to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina received the President of the Lions Association Medal in 1997 and the Paul Harris Fellows of Rotary International. In 1998, for the CHT Peace Accord, she earned the Peace Prize of Houphouet-Boigny of UNESCO. In 2000, she received Pearl S. Buck Medal of the United States and MDG Award in 2010 and the prestigious Indira Gandhi Peace Medal. Her list of accolades also includes Global Diversity Award by the House of Commons, and the United Nations South Award 2011: Digital Development Health Award, for its outstanding contribution in reducing democracy, to address the challenges of visionary leadership and climate change. In the year 2012, the cultural diversity award by the INESCO for special contribution to protect cultural diversity and cultural activities of Bangladesh. In 2013, she received the United Nations International Organization for South-South Cooperation Medal for special contribution to food security and hunger and poverty alleviation.
In 2015, the ICT has won the Women's Parliamentary Award for Sustainable Development Award and leading role in reducing gender discrimination in politics. Sheikh Hasina has taken the Global Women's Leadership Award on 27 April, 2018, for her outstanding contribution in the field of education, development, empowerment and business, and recognition of leadership in the Asia Pacific region.
Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is third in the list of five honest leaders in the world, according to recent People's and Politics research. Their report shows that Sheikh Hasina has no bank account outside Bangladesh. There is no argument in the status of Sheikh Hasina's assets without salary. Sheikh Hasina has no secret assets. 78 percent of the people of Bangladesh think that Sheikh Hasina is above the standard of greed and lust. Another pride for us is that Bangladesh’s daughter Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 'Bangladesh Building' built by the Education Ministry at Santiniketan, Visva-Bharati University on May 25 this year. She took honorary D.Litt from Kazi Nazrul University, West Bengal on May26, 2018.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has motivated many people including the development of LDCs in developing countries. Under her leadership, Bangladesh has gained the glory of self-sufficiency in food for the first time. As a result of Sheikh Hasina's initiative, the historic day of our great language movement February 21 has been recognized as the International Mother Language Day in 1999 by UNESCO. Bangladesh has acquired the right to seize the sea-seized area with Myanmar and India, by virtue of the merit, qualification and political wisdom of Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina played an active role in demanding compensation for developing countries affected by adverse effects of climate change. Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Independent Bangladesh's architect Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has taught us that we can do it, Bangladesh can be. Our beloved Prime Minister has taken us to a place where we can hold our head high as a nation and be proud of our accomplishment. The achievement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave us more motivation as well as the pride of building a prosperous Bangladesh with patriotism, honesty and devotion.
