A two-day exposition of Bharatanatyam performance by Kolpotoru was held at Nat Mandal of Dhaka University.
Eminent dancer, art director, researcher and cultural activist of South Asia Lubna Marium inaugurated the event on Sunday evening.
The first day of the event presented a solo Bharatanatyam performance by Amit Chowdhury mainly, and also Arthy Ahmed performed at the event on Sunday.
Amit Chowdhury performed the core items of Bharatnatyam such as Alaripu, Naransimha Kauthuavam, Varanm, Shivapadam, Keertanam, Thillana, while Arthy Ahmed performed only a piece named as Devarnama.
Amit Chowdhury is the teacher of Kolpotoru. Under his guidance the second is set with Kolpotoru Ensemble.
Yesterday, the second day of the event included performance of Kolpotoru Ensemble. They started the performance with Alaripu and Pushpanjali and concluded by Thillana.
The special attraction of this programme was the two dance critics of the Indian subcontinent, Sunil Kothari and Leela Venkataraman. They witnessed the programme for two days at a stretch.
