Mobile phone operator Grameenphone yesterday officially launched 4G services in selected areas of Sylhet city. "Currently, Grameen-phone's 4G services are available at Zindabazar and Upashahar areas of Sylhet," said Grameenphone Deputy CEO and CMO Yasir Azman at the inauguration ceremony in a hotel in the capital, reports BSS.
"But, additional areas of Sylhet will come under coverage within a few days," added Azman.
Grameenphone along with Robi and Banglalink introduced the 4G services immediately after receiving 4G/LTE license from the telecom regulator on February 19 night.
Yasir Azman said Grameenphone is committed to providing the best services to its customers in Sylhet and 4G will be no different. "Sylhet as the energy capital of the country will get its due importance in our rollout plan," he added.
"4G will definitely advance the digitalization of Sylhet, and play a catalytic role in serving and enabling the diverse communities and businesses of Sylhet to connect to what matters most," added Grameen-phone deputy CEO.
