After receiving the green signal from the film censor board in July, ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ was scheduled to be released in coming December. But after screening its technical show on August 28, the director has brought a change to their plan and decided to release the film finally on November 13 on the occasion of Humayun Ahmed’s birthday. The film has been produced based on a famous novel by late celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed. Centering the story of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, noted film director Morshedul Islam has produced the film. Aref Syed played the role of Anil Bagchi, while Jyotika Jyoti shared the screen as Anil’s sister in the film. Other important casts of the film include Gazi Rakayet, Farhana Mithu, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, A.M. Mohsin, Khalilur Rahman Quaderi and Misha Shawdagar, among others.
After watching the technical show, Jyotika Jyoti shared her experience about the film, “Today I have watched the film. It’s very difficult to comment about one’s own film. But the opinion of noted directors and the critics who watched the film was positive. We are very optimistic and I think we are going to get a qualitative film.” Produced under the banner of Bengal Creations, the film was shot in Dhaka and other different locations of the country. Popular musician Sani Jubayer has directed the music of the film. To note, ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ will be the first film that is going to be released which is based on any of Humayun Ahmed’s novels after his death.
