‘SC disposed of 3.35 lakh cases since 2009’

The Appellate and the High Court divisions of the Supreme Court disposed of 3,35,264 cases from January 1, 2009 to January 1, 2016, law, justice and parliamentary affairs minister Anisul Huq told the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday, reports BSS. Replying to a starred question from treasury bench member Didarul Alam, he said the apex Appellate Division settled 38,752 cases 29,625 being civil suits and 9,037 being criminal ones and 90 civil type cases from January 1, 2009 to April 3, 2016. "The High Court Division of the Supermen Court disposed of 2,96,512 cases including 35,492 civil suits, 1,89,364 criminal cases and 71,656 cases civil in nature during the period," the minister told the House.
