Bangladeshi students of Canterbury University celebrated Victory Day on the campus in Christchurch, New Zealand, says a press release. The programme on December 16 began with a special prayer for the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War. The day’s events included discussions, performance of patriotic songs and dance, poetry recitation and screening of a short film on the birth of Bangladesh. University students and expatriate Bangladeshis attended the function, which concluded with dinner and a raffle draw.
