The face of a man is the mirror of his personality. But it is difficult to assume the real intention of a person nowadays. In general, it can be said that the external visage is not a reflection of what a man really is on the inside. “The face is a picture of the mind with the eyes as its interpreter” said Marcus Tullius Cicero. Most likely this theme was true once with maximum amount of probability. However, it’s now like a dream and hypothesis rather than reality and perception. The critical psychology of the people within a complicated society is changing rapidly. This happens whenever the relationships and bonding within the family members are weakened. What are the causes behind that and which possible factors are responsible, it needs to be analysed very critically.
Meaningful interactions and philosophies of a family are the basis of life of the children. Interaction means communication, relating and realising capability of family members with each other. Another concept of life is the family dynamics and the impact analysis of family dynamics is required for explaining the trend of change of human relationships with time. If it is possible to follow the pattern of changes in relationships, then social structure can be rearranged from a logical point of view. Otherwise the social structure will be destroyed and unusual or non-justifiable opportunities will be created.
The philosophy is the fundamental development of beliefs, assumptions, ethics, concepts and attitudes of an individual or group. These factors are related with the family.
Usually these points seem to be static rather than dynamic and their significances in human life are never ignored. Although these are assumed to be static, in present situation, dynamic change cannot be overlooked. The main concern is the dynamic and its consequences. The dynamic interaction or philosophy can either be good or bad depending on the absorbing potentiality of a person. More researches and critical analysis are required for adaptation or rejection of dynamic interaction or philosophy for the betterment of the society. The family, the nature of interaction with each-other and their philosophies affect the possibility of inclusion with terrorism to a certain extent. Some case studies of current social issues can be considered as examples. The history of terrorism began in Bangladesh on March 25, 1971. It was the day our country faced genocide carried out by the Pakistan Army. At no point can Operation Searchlight be considered as a military action, it was a systematic murder of innocent people of Bangladesh. The second act of terrorism took place on December 14, 1971 by the Pakistani armed forces and their collaborators during the Liberation War.
The main conspiracy behind this terrorism was to make Bangladesh talentless. The great and eminent litterateurs, doctors, engineers, journalists, teachers, academics were killed and their dead bodies dumped in Rayerbazar, Mirpur. The root or sources of these terrorists are still in Bangladesh, because they are working as agents of a defeated power. After liberation war, the terrorists have killed the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 10-Truck Arms and Ammunition Haul in Chittagong, 1999 Bombing of Jessore, 1999 Khulna mosque bombing, 2001 bombing on Communist Party of Bangladesh, 2001 Gopalganj Roman Catholic church bombing, 2001 Narayanganj bombing, 2001 Ramna Batamul bombings, 2002 Mymensingh cinema bombing, 2002 Satkhira bombing are some examples of terrorism. As a case study, the incident of 2001 Ramna Batamul bombings can be considered as the attack on the Bengali culture. The terrorist attack on Ramna Batamul is analysed in two ways in relation to the family. The intensions of the terrorists were to create an insecure environment for the board and open minded cultural oriented families. Another thing was to express their power by attacking the traditional festivals of Bangladesh.
Currently, the antisocial agents of the country and aboard are silently working through our new generation. One of the crucial reasons for the involvement of the new generation with terrorism is the disappointment and frustration with their families. The artificial relationship with the family members creates the vacuum within the next generation and they are easily isolated by the master mind terrorists behind the scene. The specialised personalities have identified the strategies of terrorists. The master minded terrorists first recruit the people of the new generation.
Then they arrange training programmes for making them capable of attacking innocent people and after that, they formulate the adverse operation. In addition to that, the terrorists motivate them by explaining the religion in wrong ways. The recent statistics show that English medium students are the targets of this terrorist group. Most of the English medium students are from rich families and many of them are not well versed in the culture and real history of Bangladesh. Another concerning issue is the lack of connection between the rich parents and their child. The materialistic characteristics are also responsible for their participation in terrorism. But it will be wrong to assume that only the rich family members are involved with terrorism.
The poor or middle class or lower middle class people are also engaged with terrorism. The main reason behind that is poverty and unemployment. They do not have a lot of money, therefore they are an easy bait for the terrorist groups. First they provide the impoverished people support by giving money and more.
When the poor are fully controlled or dependent on them, they motivate them with their destructive plans and policies. The people behind the scene are adapting their strategies to counter the government’s plan to fight against terrorism.
Suicide squads are formed by women as well as men. Although women are universal symbol of motherhood, they are being manipulated through their personal loss. The conservative nature of our society and in some cases our educational system is also liable for terrorism.
The terrorism that took place at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka, Atia Mahal and Sholakia are alarming issues for us. More in depth researches, analysis and case studies are required to fight against the terrorists and terrorism in Bangladesh. The strategies and policies need to be adapted to create social awareness within the family as well as the social order. Hopefully victory will be achieved only by the patriotic people of Bangladesh at last.
