Bangladesh Telecommuni-cation Regulatory Commission (BTRC) canceled the spectrum of ‘World Tel Bangladesh Limited’ for violating some sections of Bangladesh Telecommunication Act 2001. A letter issued and signed by Lt Col Sufi Mohammad Moinuddin, SUP, SC, and Director of Spectrum Division in BTRC, read the development on November 21. The notification read that the regulatory body has found the World Tel Bangladesh Limited, a public switched telephone network (PSTN) operator involved in violating the section 35 and 55 of Telecommuni-cation Act-2001 and using the spectrum illegally for illegal call termination. The decision was made on May 3 this year and asked the convicted company not to operate any telecommunication services using the spectrum, the notification mentioned concerning all respected entities.
