Police arrested four people, including two doctors of a private clinic in Chandaganj here on early yesterday, after a female patient died reportedly for wrong treatment.
Victim’s family alleged that Fatema Begum, wife of expatriate Abdul Qauder of South Joypur village in Sadar upazila, died due to wrong treatment at SMK Hospital early in the morning.
Dr Kazi Foyeza Akhter aided by some other staff conducted a surgery on Fatema as she was admitted to the clinic with an ovarian tumor on Thursday, and the patient died following the operation, alleged deceased’s brother Ismail Hossain.
Confirming UNB about the detention, officer-in-charge M Mokter Hossian of Chandraganj Police Station said police have detained four people, including two physicians—Dr Kazi Foyeza Akter and Dr Golam Moin Uddin—of the hospital for questioning.
