National Deworming Week will start tomorrow in all the districts across the country simultaneously with a view to declining worm-related diseases to zero percent, reports BSS. “To bring the number to zero percentage as a part of the continuous efforts, this year around four crore children will be administered by deworming medicine ‘Albendazole’ across the country,” said Director General of DGSH Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop and view-exchanging meeting at Directorate General of Health Services office in Mohakhali area yesterday. “The early years of a child are the most significant. I am confident that if the children aged between 5 and 16 will be brought under the deworming coverage, they will have improved health,” the DGHS head said.
