‘It’ a 2017 American supernatural horror film directed by Andy Muschietti, based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King, released at Star Cineplex of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall and Blockbuster Cinemas of Jamuna Future Park yesterday.
The film tells the story of a group of bullied kids band together when a shape shifting demon, taking the appearance of clown, begins hunting children.
Seven young outcasts in Derry, Maine, are about to face their worst nightmare -- an ancient, shape-shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey on the town’s children. Banding together over the course of one horrifying summer, the friends must overcome their own personal fears to battle the murderous, bloodthirsty clown known as Pennywise.
The film stars Jaeden Lieberher and Bill Skarsgård as Bill Denbrough and Pennywise the Dancing Clown, respectively, with Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Nicholas Hamilton and Jackson Robert Scott in supporting roles.
The film premiered in Los Angeles on September 5, 2017, and was theatrically released in the United States on September 8. As of September 19, 2017, It has grossed $228.4 million in the United States and Canada, and $153.5 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $381.9 million, against a production budget of $35 million.
