Akhi Alamgir lends vocal to song tuned by Runa Laila for first time

The track to be used in Alamgir-directed new film ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’

For the first time in her colourful music career spans over five decades, a song has been tuned by melody queen-famed internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila. And, celebrated singer Akhi Alamgir has lent her vocal to this playback song which will be used in the film ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ directed by veteran actor Alamgir.

Eminent lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar has penned down the song, whose recording has already been completed recently, Runa Laila informed.

Runa Laila said about setting tune to a song for the first time, “Truly speaking, the work has been done with the inspiration of Alamgir. I liked the lyric of the song very much. I think setting tune to a song is the toughest job. To do this tough job for the first time in my life, I really had to think a lot about the tune. What I demanded to Alamgir is that the song has to be completed entirely with the acoustic instruments and it was done accordingly.”

“Akhi was a little afraid before singing the song, but I saw profound confidence in her. This is a classical song. Akhi has lent her vocal to the song outstandingly till the end from the beginning of the final recording. I think the song will set a milestone”, Runa Laila said praising the singing of Akhi Alamgir.

Akhi Alamgir said, “I am extremely grateful to my father and Runa aunty that they kept faith in me for doing such a unique song.  This is a historic moment of my life. After the completion of the song’s recording, Runa aunty embraced me, and we all three--my father, aunty and I--were crying. This is the ultimate achievement for me for the song.”

To note, under the banner of own production house named Icon Entertainment, Alamgir is making his film ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’. The shooting is set to start from September 9 this year. l
