38th BCS online application opens
Process to continue till 10 Aug, preliminary exam end of October
The online application for the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examinations started yesterday and it would continue till Aug 10, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) sources said.
The BPSC sources said at least 484 candidates applied till 12.45 pm on Monday using services of state owned mobile operator Teletalk.
BPSC Chairman Muhammed Sadique told The Independent yesterday that the online application is functioning without any trouble and urged the candidates to complete their applications as soon as possible before the deadline.
As the applications are completed online, it would be better to complete the task as early as possible. We expect that around 2.5 lakh candidates would apply for the preliminary exams, he added.
This is the first time the candidates would need national identity card number for the application. Besides, the applicants have to give choice for Bangla or English version questions in the preliminary exams.
The version type would be mentioned on the candidates admit card, he added.
Candidates would get the choice for answering questions in either Bangla or English in the preliminary and written test of BCS examinations, he said.
Besides, the answer scripts of the written test would be checked separately by two examiners to ensure fairness and if the number difference of the two examiners is 20 marks or more, a third examiner would see the answer script.
The chairman said the preliminary examinations would be held at eight centres of eight divisional cities at the end of October and the date would be fixed later.
The candidates would contest in the competitive examinations against 2,024 cadre posts.
