Badrul gets life term for attempted murder of Khadija

A Sylhet court has sentenced to life-term imprisonment in a case file in connection with attempted murder of college girl Khaidza Akter Nargis.

Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha gave the verdict Wednesday morning.

Court also fined Badrul 5,000 Taka, or a further 2 months imprisonment in default.

The verdict was pronounced in presence of the convict. Badrul had been stalking college student Khadija for some time.

On 3rd October last year, Badrul attacked and critically injured Khadija in broad daylight, in front of MC College in Sylhet. There was a public outcry for justice after a video of the attack went viral on social media. Khadija barely survived the attempt on her life.
