Key share price indices as well as turnover fell at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The DSE key index, DSEX shed 5.81 points or 0.13 percent to close at 4602.52 on the day. Of the 322 issues traded, 107 gained, 172 declined and 42 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 333.31 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday as against Tk 429.38 crore on Thursday.
LR Global Bangladesh Mutual Fund One topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were First Bangladesh Fixed Income Fund, Hamid Fabrics, Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills, Apex Foods, Shyampur Sugar Mills, BD Autocars, Green Delta Insurance, Kohinoor Chemicals and Pragati Insurance.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco, Beximco Pharma, Delta Life Insurance, Emerald Oil Industries and Quasem Drycells.
Top five gainers at the DSE were Desh Garmants, Fas Finance & Investment, Atlas Bangladesh, Delta Life Insurance and Reliance Insurance.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI also lost 12.32 points to reach 14041.68 at close on Sunday. Of the 234 issues traded, 74 advanced, 126 suffered loss and 34 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 20.28 crore on the day.unb
