DSE, CSE indices drop on Sunday

 Key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - dropped again on Sunday after slight gain on the last trading day.

Both DSE and CSE witnessed loss for the eighth time among the last nine trading sessions.

The DSE key index, DSEX lost 9.34 points or 0.21 percent to close at 4511.54 on the day. Of the 320 issues traded, 129 gained, 151 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 347.91 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday as against Tk 286.59 crore on Thursday.

Regent Textile Mills topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were 5th ICB Mutual Fund, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mills, Simtex Industries, Grameen Mutual Fund One, Aman Feed, Padma Islami Life Insurance, Shurwid Industries, UNG Hai Knitting & Dyeing and Prime Textile.

The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco Pharma, Quasem Drycells, Emerald Oil Industries, Square Pharmaceuticals and Lafarge Surma Cement.

Top five gainers at the DSE were Apex Foods, Rangpur Foundry, AMCL (Pran), Beach Hatchery and Gemini Sea Food.

The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI lost 24.15 points to reach 13774.81 at close on Sunday. Of the 239 issues traded, 89 advanced, 119 suffered loss and 31 remained unchanged.

The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 22.87 crore on the day.unb
