A total of 487 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in all 10 districts of the division on Sunday till 8.00am, climbing the number of infected patients 1,16,747.
With one more new death in the last 24 hours, the total number of fatalities reached 3,202 in the division, including 810 in Khulna, followed by 789 in Kushtia, 517 in Jashore, 269 in Jhenidah, 189 in Chuadanga, 145 in Bagerhat, 88 in Satkhira, 121 in Narail, 183 in Meherpur, 91 in Magura and 88 in Satkhira, said Dr Monjur Morshed, Khulna divisional director of Health.
The new daily infection figure shows an almost double compared to the previous day’s figure 487, the health department sources said.
“Among the infected people, 1, 09,451 have, so far, been cured from the lethal virus with 12 new recoveries found on Monday morning,” said Dr Monjur, adding that a total of 18,465 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 1, 17,789 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 1, 13.415 have now been released.
On the other hand, 16 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 14 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest 195 were detected in Jashore, followed by 152 in Khulna, 130 in Kushtia, 98 in Jhenaidah, 26 in Satkhira, 25 in Bagerhat, 24 in Magura, 17 in Narail, 11 in Meherpur and 10 in Chuadanga.
With the new 688 detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 28,885 in Khulna, 22,816 in Jashore, 19,398 in Kushtia, 9,988 in Jhenidah, 7,334 in Satkhira, 7,038 in Chuadanga, 7,150 in Bagerhat, 5,074 in Narail, 4,815 in Magura and 4,815 in Meherpur.
A total of 1, 04,659 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 in 2020 to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 1, 04,440 people, now, have been released as they were given clearance after completing their respective 14-day quarantine.
