Qazi Anwar Hussain, the popular writer of the detective series, Masud Rana, died on Wednesday afternoon. He was 86.
He was undergoing treatment at the city’s BIRDEM hospital after suffering a heart attack and a stroke.
He also suffered from prostate cancer.
Besides “Masud Rana”, Qazi Anwar Hussain penned many other thrillers and adventure stories. Through his popular fictional works and publications company, Sheba Prokashoni, he created a generation of readers in Bangladesh.
He was son of the late National Professor Qazi Motahar Hussain and obtained his graduate and postgraduate degrees in Bangla from Dhaka University.
