4 artistes injured in Dhaka road accident

At least five people, including four artistes, were injured following a road accident at city's Gulshan avenue in the early hours of Friday.

The artistes were Lux star Nazifa Tushi, actors Shariful Islam Raj, Khairul Bashar, Junaid Bogdadi and Ismail.

Police said the accident took place when a private car (Dhaka Metro GA 13-3000) carrying them hit a road-side electric post as the driver lost control over the steering at Dhaka's Gulshan avenue at 3am on Thursday, leaving the car in a dilapidated condition.

"Five passengers were rescued from the car and sent to a nearby hospital," said ASI Rokonuzzaman of Gulshan Police station. Critically injured two of them were admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
