Both DSE, CSE drop on Tuesday

Key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- dropped on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

The DSE key index, DSEX lost 14.56 points or 0.32 percent to close at 4593.49 on the day. Of the 314 issues traded, 119 gained, 152 declined and 47 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 398.08 crore changed hands at the DSE on Tuesday against Monday’s Tk 456.50 crore.

United Airways topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were BD Autocars, Shahjibazar Power, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Apex Spinning & Knitting, Global Insurance, Wata Chemicals, Saiham Textile, Bsrm Steels and Golden Son.

The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were BSRM Steels, Delta Life Insurance, Quasem Drycells, Square Pharmaceuticals and Beximco Pharma.

Top five gainers at the DSE were Keya Cosmetics, Quasem Drycells, Delta Life Insurance, Islami Insurance Bangladesh and Ibn Sina.

The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI lost 37.36 points to reach 14024.74 at close on Tuesday. Of the 246 issues traded, 88 advanced, 122 suffered loss and 36 remained unchanged.

The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 30.14 crore on the day.unb
