We witnessed some momentous beauty trends this year that were convinced will be largely defining the trends of the coming decade.
Many trends made a comeback but with a 2020 update which was fun and experimental, these trends are surely here to stay.

1. Neon Eyeliner
The classic black eyeliner got the 2020 update it deserved with its fun cousin - neon, replacing it. Neon eyeliners are definitely statement worthy that can add a fun element to your overall outfit. To ace the bold neon eyeliner, keep the rest of the look muted and let the eyes do all the talking.
2. Glossy Lips
90s most popular trend made a very well deserved comeback in 2020 that really helped us channel our inner popstar. The sugar glosses were the rage back in the day and with people opting for minimal looks, the glossy lips trend was very well deserved. Glossy lips can help you achieve maximum impact with minimum effort and allows room for a lot of experimentation. Ditch the clear ones with pops of colour to add that colourpop effect to your look.
3. Bushy Eyebrows
Thin overly drawn eyebrows are so 2000-and late and were more than happy to never see thos eyebrows again. 2020 was the year for change and we have seen bushy eyebrows make comeback in a way like no other. Thick natural eyebrows which are natural and bushy are easier to maintain and create a natural look with most looks. Tame your eyebrows with eyebrow gels and thin brow gels to slightly shape your eyebrows and voila! Youre good to go.
4. Glass Skin
Of course were all obsessed with the world of K-beauty and here is another trend shone bright this year. Even though the trend was prevalent in 2018 and 2019 too, it was only in 2020 when it gathered much more momentum. Glass skin as the name suggests is a trend when the skin is intensely treated until the skin has a glass-like glimmer. The glass-like sheen follows a routine of deep hydration, a switch to a nutritious diet and disciplined skincare.
5. Glitter Everywhere
Leave a little glitter everywhere you go has been one of the most popular motto s for makeup this year. From glittery eyelids to glittery lips, glitter ruled the makeup scene in 2020. Retro-inspired statement making chunky sparkly eyes, glittery smokey eye looks and illuminated cheekbones are something you will possibly never go wrong with.
6. Updated French Manicure
The classic French manicure is classy and demure but 2020 was not having it any subtle. The classic white tips was switched up with pops of colour and nail art patterns that had a personality of its own. Think ultra-thin coloured tips in bold accents that surely defined the start of the new decade.
7. Floating Crease
The 60s was well defined by bold and dramatic cut creases and thick eyeliners. Combine the two and you have one of the best makeup comebacks of the season of the retro-era - the floating crease. Ditch your usual cat eyeliner for a simple swipe of liner on your crease and experiment with different pops of colour as well.
8. Face Embellishments
Remember all those face stickers that you put on your face as kids because you thought you were cool? Well, you certainly were far ahead of your time because 2020 face embellishments in sparkly styles were all the rage. From glittery stars and rhinestones to polka dots, the new normal we totally approve for our extra glam alter ego, were these stars included in our makeup looks.

Theoretically, adding a little metallic hue to the inner corners of the eyes creates the illusion of larger eyes. Of course with colours playing a huge role to define this year, metallic hues were joined in with pastels and bright pops of colour too to accentuate the eyes. Whether a winged eyeliner or a full blown smokey eyes look, this trick will do wonders to ace every makeup look.
