Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed on Tuesday launched the activities of Astha Life Insurance Company Ltd, a new venture of the Army Welfare Trust.
“It will cover death risks to the members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, who are serving the people of the country with life risks,” he said.
At the inaugural programme held at the Army Headquarters, the army chief received a life insurance policy from the company, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today.
Managing Director of the life insurance company Brig. Gen. Md. Manirul Gani handed over the insurance policy to the army chief.
Alongside the members of armed forces, people of other professions of the country can have insurance policies from the company, the release added.
