With unconditional love and support from the amazing audience, fans and followers, Miles, one of the most popular bands in Bangladesh, has walked a long way. The band has completed an eventful journey of four decades (forty years) this year. To make this milestone voyage unforgettable and more jovial, Miles is set to perform in numerous concerts at both home and abroad.

Attending a press meet yesterday at the Daily Star Centre in the capital, the members of Miles have announced a roadmap for the forthcoming massive celebration to mark the four-decade journey. Miles team members, Shafin Ahmed, Hamin Ahmed, Manam Ahmed, Syed Ziaur Rahman Turjo and Iqbal Asif Jewel briefed the media about their plans.

Besides, Windmill managing director Sabbir Rahman Tanim was also present on the occasion.

Shafin Ahmed said about their four-decade celebration, “We have chalked out a lot of activities on the occasion of four-decade celebration. Till now, Miles has released 11 albums. Also, four best of albums were released. Among the albums, two albums were released from India, while two from the USA. The forty-year celebration will not be concluded with a one-day concert, rather it would be continued for five to six months. Not only at home, there will be different types of arrangements in abroad as well.”

Hamin Ahmed, one of the prominent members of the band, said, “It’s a year of joy for us. We will celebrate with our audiences, fans and followers. We would start the celebration with our USA tour. Miles is going to perform in more than 12 solo shows in the different cities of USA. In our Canada tour in September, there will be six shows. Then after returning to home from the USA, we shall be going to Australia for five or six shows. Then, we again come back to home for local shows.”

The organisers informed that alongside a gala concert in Dhaka, a number of concerts will be arranged in different divisional cities, like Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna. Several leading bands of the country will also perform at the celebration of four decades of Miles.

Windmill Advertising Limited will extend its support to organise the concerts at home in connection with the forty-year celebration of Miles.
