Government formed a new education board in Mymensingh division. The new education board name is Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mymensingh.
Secondary and Higher Education Division of Education Ministry recently issued a gazette notification in this regard.
Md Sohorab Hossain, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division of Education Ministry confirmed to UNB on Wednesday that government formed a new education board in Mymensingh division.
Intermediate and Secondary Education activities of Mymensingh, Netrakona, Jamalpur and Sherpur districts will run under the Mymensingh education board.
Already there were eight general education boards in Bangladesh.
As the government made Mymensingh a new education board, the total number of education boards in Bangladesh is nine now.
The general education boards are Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Comilla, Sylhet, Barisal, Jessore and Dinajpur education boards.
Besides, there are a Madrasah and a Technical education boards in Bangladesh.
Now total 11 education boards in Bangladesh.
The National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (Nicar) endorsed Mymensingh as a new division with Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrakona districts on September 14, 2015.unb
