North South University Photography Club

NSU Photography Club (NSUPC) is a student club of North South University. Since its birth in 1996 the members and photographers of this club has worked hard to expose photography to the world and amuse the world with the creative talent of the young photographers. NSUPC started its journey in 1997, and within a few years it has established itself as an enormously successful and one of the most active clubs of NSU.
NSUPC was the brainchild of a handful of individuals who had the desire to make a difference. The photography club has a goal is to develop the photographers and establish a strong network between   professional and amateur photographers.
During each semester and each year NSUPC organises many prestigious events like national and international fieldtrips, photography exhibitions and inter-university competitions. NSUPC’s biggest event – “International Inter University Photography Competition (IIUPE)” is unique in the whole world and is the second biggest photography event in the country. This event has been organising exclusively by North South University Photography Club since 2003. The event intends to promote non-professionals, more specifically to say the university going students, on a wide international scale. IIUPE not only encourages and promotes photography, but also creates a bond with like-minded individuals across the countries. For professional photographers, the scopes are wide and many of them are dominating the world of photography. But there is little opportunity for the non professionals to get international exposure. IIUPE is the stage for these photographers where they can showcase their creativity in a worldwide platform.
In 2011 NSUPC organised IIUPE for the 7th time. IIUPE 2011 broke all previous records and received 5500 Single Entries and 52 Photo Stories, from 645 photographers, belonging to 120 universities of 31 countries. Out of these, 152 Photographers’ from 46 universities of 15 countries had been selected to be exhibited in IIUPE by the jury panel comprising of eminent photographers Andrew Biraj, Munem Wasif and Shafiqul Alam Kiron.
Intra NSU Photography Exhibition and Competition is the event where an NSU student can compete with their best photography works and can showcase their creativity to all. This platform helps to judge one with others.
The respect, the relation, the love, the fun, the gathering, the enjoyment, the B-B-Q party, the experience, the excitement all makes the club one of the most enthusiastic, creative and artistic club.
“The sky is not out limit. We set the limit of the sky”. This is the official quote of the photography club that reflects the dynamic energy through the photographers, and illustrates the fact that they are always striving to get better, both as a club and as individual photographers.
