Water levels of 38 rivers rise, 40 fall

Water levels at 38 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 40 stations recorded falls, reports BSS. Among the 90 monitored water level stations, six river stations have been registered steady while water level at one river station is flowing above danger mark, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today. The Kushiyara at Sherpur-Sylhet point is flowing above its danger level 22 cm. Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today. A total of 200 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Sunamganj, 61 mm at Chilmari, 118mm at Lorergarh, 58mm at Chandpur, 86mm at Durgapur, 57mm at Chittagong, 77.4mm at Serajganj, 50mm at Dewanganj, 63mm at Panchpukuria, 50mm at Khulna, 61.5mm at Nakuagaon and 49mm at Jamalpur.
