The 2017 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) begins to meet guests from 86 countries and regions in Yunnan Province’s capital Kunming on Monday.
Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center is the venue for this year’s SSACEIF which covers an exhibiting area of 170,000 square meters, where 8,000 standard booths are set up in 17 exhibition halls, including those for ASEAN, South Asia, international sistership and plateau agriculture. 41.2 percent of the exhibition booths are booked by overseas companies.
With the theme of “Creating New Opportunities for New Development”, the first SSACEIF aims to showcase commodities from South Asia and the ASEAN, while promoting business consultations between China and countries in the regions.
Many high-end forums are simultaneously held, including the China-South Asia Business Forum, the China-ASEAN Business forum, the Chinese Provinces-US States Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar, the GMS Economic Corridor Governors Forum and GMS Economic Corridor Week, and the South and Southeast Asia Technology Transfer Conference.
Every pavilion of the 2017 SSACEIF are “eye-catching.” The South Asia Pavilion sees participation from eight countries. And in the ASEAN pavilion, all ten ASEAN member-states, as well as the would-be ASEAN state of Timor-Leste, participate in the exhibition. It is a fascinating experience for visitors to walk through exotic goods in these two pavilions.
The seven-day exhibition will last until June 18.
