Jatiya Party to contest all 300 seats in next polls: Ershad

RANGPUR: Special Envoy to the Prime Minister and Jatiya Party Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad yesterday said his party would contest all 300 parliamentary seats in the next general elections, reports BSS.
"We will nominate candidates for all 300 parliamentary seats and definitely win in 100 seats in the next general elections," Ershad said this while talking to local journalists at his 'Polli Nibas' residence yesterday. He said his party would launch candidate in all 22 parliamentary seats in greater Rangpur region, including six seats in Rangpur district. Ershad also criticised the proposed national budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal saying that the government should propose a pro-election budget before the next general elections in place of imposing the burden of more taxes onthe shoulders of people.Convener of Rangpur district unit of Jatiya Party Mofazzal Hossain Master, its city unit President Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa and General Secretary SM Yasser and leaders of the district as well as city units of the party were present.Earlier, leaders of Rangpur district and city units of Jatiya Party welcomed Ershad with wreaths on his arrival at Syedpur airport from Dhaka yesterday morning. The Jatiya Party Chairman is now on a four-day visit here.
