27 lawyers appointed assistant attorney generals­

The government yesterday relieved 23 assistant attorney generals (AAG) from their duties and appointed 27 lawyers to the position. The law ministry yesterday issued a circular under signed by solicitor (In-charge) Ranjan Kumar Saha following a presidential order in this regard. The circular said that the appointments of 27 assistant attorney generals will take immediate effect and will remain valid until further notice. It also said that 23 assistant attorney generals have been relieved from their respective duties upon cancellation of their appointments with immediate effect.
A high official of the law ministry said that government relieved 23 assistant attorney generals from their duties considering their ‘poor performance’ and appointed 27 assistant attorney generals to give the chance for the new lawyers.
According to the law ministry sources, the government is likely to exempt some deputy attorney generals (DAG) from their duties considering their poor performance.
The lawyers, who have been relieved from the office of AAG, are: Shadhan Kumar Banik, Delwara Begum Bela, Yadia Zaman, Anwara Khanam, Bilkis Fatema, Mitiur Rahman Hawlader, Abdul Bari, Nurul Haque, Manowar Hossain, Abdur Rahman Hawlader, Bahauddin Ahmed, Touhida Khatun Rina, Abu Saleh Mohammad Fazle Rabbi Khan, Md Zaber, Mozammel Haque Rana,  Khandker Modares Elahi Tiru, Mia Sirajul Islam, SM Asadullah Tarek, Shahidul Islam Khan, ABM Mahbub, Mamunur Rashid, Soeb Khan and Nowajish Ara Begum.
The lawyers, who have been appointed as AAG, are: Syeda Sabina Ahmed (Moli), Afifa Begum, Anich Ul Maowa (Arju), Saiba Fairoz, Helena Begum (Chaina), Md Asaduzzaman, Lucky Begum, Md Shafiquzzaman, Mizanur Rahman Khan, Mohammad Akhtar Hossain, Syed Bashir Hossain Chowdhury, Nusrat Jahan, Abul Kalam Khan (Daud), Sandhya Ghosh, Md Nasim Islam, Mohammad Mojibur Rahman, Ashraf Uddin Khan, Mehedi Hasan, Nirmal Kumar Das, Zahir Ahmed, Sathi Shahajahan, Zakir Hossain, Airin Jahan, Prohlad Debnath, Abul Hossain Md Ziauddin, Ashik Rubaiyat and Najimul Islam Raju.
