The much-awaited film based on the life of cricket master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar released last Friday and has been doing great business at the box office, reports The Times of India. The film that opened to good numbers on Friday has managed to keep the graph steady on Sunday as well. According to a report on BoxofficeIndia.com, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ raked in Rs 9 crore on Sunday taking the total collection to Rs 23.94 crore.
Written and directed by James Erskine, the film delves into how Sachin became the gifted cricketer that we all came to know him by, throwing light on his perseverance and preparation, his trials and tribulations.
Recently the Maharashtra government decided to waive off the entertainment tax on Tendulkar’s biopic. The movie, which was simultaneously shot in Hindi, Marathi and English, has also been declared tax-free in Odisha, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
