Besides acting in numerous popular films in his career, National Film Award-winning veteran actor Alamgir also made several commercially successful films. He made his last film ‘Nirmam’ in 1996. Now, after 20 long years, Alamgir is going to direct a new film titled ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’. The film’s shooting is set to begin from coming September 7. The film’s story, dialogue and screenplay have also been written by Alamgir himself. Spending two years time, very passionately, Alamgir has written its story, he informed DhakaLive.
Meanwhile, those who have been chosen for playing different roles in the film are Arifin Shuvo, Rituparna Sengupta, Sadek Bachchu, Seberi Alam, Jaki Alamgir and Bobby, among others. The songs of the film are written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Moniruzzaman Monir and Kabir Bakul. On the other hand, SI Tutul, Emon Saha and Shawkat Ali Emon have tuned these songs, while Emon Saha will work on the background music of the film.
However, it has yet to be finalised who will play opposite Alamgir in the film. Actor Alamgir informed it will be finalised within June.
Alamgir said about making his new big venture ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’, “Every man has his own story of life. According to that thousands of stories like these have been featured in the films. From there, I have created imaginative stories of a few people. My story or film will not match with the personal life of anyone.”
Alamgir said ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ will be produced under the banner of his own production house, Icon Entertainment.
To note, Alamgir won the prestigious National Film Award for nine times. He won his first National Film Award for acting in the film ‘Ma O Chhele’. Then, he was bestowed with the same award for the films ‘Opekkha’, ‘Khotipuron’, ‘Moroner Pore’, ‘Pita Mata Sontan’, ‘Ondho Biswas’, ‘Desh Premik’ and ‘Chirodiner Sathi’ and others.
