‘Nazrul Mela 2017’ 
in Kolkata June 1-4

Chhayanat (Kolkata) is going to organise the first-ever ‘Nazrul Mela 2017’ from June 1 to 4 at Sisir Mancha, Abanindra Sabhagriha and Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshasala in Kolkata.
It is an endeavour to collaborate between the admirers of Kazi Nazrul Islam from both West Bengal and Bangladesh. The festival will be inaugurated by the legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara (Bangladesh), in the presence of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s daughter-in-law Kalyani Kazi. The ceremony will also be attended by many singers and artistes.
Numerous artistes from both the countries danseuse Smt. Alokananda Roy, Guru Thankamani Kutty, sarod-player Sri Debojyoti Bose, percussionist Sri Mallar Ghosh, artiste Wasim Kapoor and Sri Goutam De (Regional Director of ICCR) among others will participate in various cultural and musical programmes during the four-day festival.
There will also be a unique photo exhibition ‘Autograph on Photograph’ by very well-known photographer Sri Prashant Arora, which will feature many exclusive photos of renowned singers of both the countries, who are/were famous for singing Nazrul Sangeet.
Along with this exhibition, there will be a ‘Dis play Counter’, where the music CDs, books, stamps, manuscript, coin and publications will be displayed by various collectors.
Chandrabali Rudra Dutta, Ramaanuj Dasgupta, Susmita Goswami, Anusua Mukhopadhyay will participate during the festival while Chhayanat, Bageshree, Kathashilpi, Geetolekha, BisherBanshi, Amodini (India), Surosaptak, Ranota and Banshori (Bangladesh) will perform group performances. Besides,  SayedHasmat Jalal, Binod Ghosal, KalyaniKazi, Mujibar Rahman (India), Masum Chowdhury, Kamaluddin (Bangladesh) will attend the seminar.
