Police detained 25 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from Panthapath area in the city yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Division Biplob Kumar Sarker said acting on a tip-off police conducted a raid on an IT training centre near Shamrita Hospital in Panthapath area around 3:00 pm. “A number of 25 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student body Islami Chhatra Shibir were detained, and 16 computers were seized from the training centre,” he said.
