BKSP dominate the meet

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan (BKSP) kept their clear dominance in the ongoing Swiss Paper Independence Day Tennis tournament when Afrana Islam Priti, Rumman Hossain and Jerin Sultana all BKSP participants emerged champions in their respective boys and girls division.
Held at the Ramna National Tennis Complex, Faruque Hossain of Elite Tennis Academy also won the trophy defeating his compatriot Jewel Rana by 3-6, 6-4 and 7-5 sets in the boys singles 18 years’ group.
In the girls singles of 18 years’ group top seeded Afrana Islam Priti defeated her BKSP team-mate Rebeka Sultana by 6-1 and 7-6 to win the trophy.
In the boys 14 years group Rumman Hossain of BKSP came from behind to win the trophy after a hard fought 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 victory over Rakib Hossian of Elite Tennis Academy.
Jerin Sultana Joly of BKSP defeated her BKSP compatriot Eti Akhter in straight 6-3, 6-1 sets to win the trophy of girls 14 year’s group.
Mashfia Afrin of Brahmanbaria DSA made an upset defeating Sadia Afrin of BKSP by 8-2 games in the girls 12 year’s group.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, Delwar Hossian of the National Tennis Complex moved into the final defeating Milon Hossain of American Club by 6-4 and 4-2 when the former retired hurt.
But another participant of American Club Arif Hossain qualified for the final of the men’s singles while Rubel Hossain of British High Commission Club retired hurt after 6-4 and 4-0.  
The final of the men’s singles will take place at 4pm today.
