Primary teachers put forward
7-point demand

RAJSHAHI: More than 700 teachers of government primary  schools at a human-chain here on Thursday put forward a seven-point demand for removing their existing disparities in the national pay scale, reports BSS. They demanded re-fixing the pay scale of headmaster and assistant teachers  to 10th (Taka 16,000) and 11th (Taka 12,500) grades respectively in the eighth national pay scale.
Their demand also included taking immediate measures for filling up the vacant posts of head teachers for a smooth operation of the school activities. District committee of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Samity (BPTS) organised the programme in front of Primary Teachers Institute here. BPTS Local unit leaders Ayub Ali, Abdul Khaleque Sarker, Shahidul Alam, Abdus Samad, Abdur Razzaque and Shahadat Siddiqui spoke on the occasion. After the meeting, they also submitted a memorandum containing the demands to the prime minister through deputy commissioner.
