Three people including a schoolboy were killed by lightning in separate incidents in Mymensingh sadar and Dhobaura upazila yesterday.The victims were identified as Tamim, 14, a student of class IX of Mymensingh Zila School at Mymensingh town, Asad Mia, 45, and his brother Engraj Mia, 40, sons of Abdul Malek of village Rauti in Dhobaura upazila.Tamim sustained serious injuries as he was hit by lightning while he was playing football with his friends at the school ground around 2.30pm, police sources said.Critically injured Tamim was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.In another incident, two brothers-Asad Mia and his brother Engraj Mia were killed by lightning at village Rauti in Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh yesterday morning.They sustained critical injuries after being hit by lightning while they were harvesting Boro paddy at their fields around 9.30am, said Shawkat Alam, officer-in-charge of Dhobaura Police Station.
