3 bodies recovered

Police recovered three bodies, including a female domestic help, from different areas of the capital and Narayanganj city yesterday. In Dhaka: Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman, stuffed in a plastic sack, from Banani area of the capital yesterday. Sub Inspector Mostak Ahmed of Banani Police Station said being informed, police recovered the body from a plastic sack in Korail slum area at Banani. He said police suspected that unidentified assailants might have strangled her and dumped the body there. Quoting locals, the official said, a man rented a room at Ershadnagar slum on July 20 introducing the woman as his wife. After the incident, the man remained absconding, he said, adding that police are trying to identify the victim. Meanwhile, Uttara police recovered the body of female domestic in the capital’s Uttara area on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Nasrin, 13, was working as housemaid at a house on Road-5 under Uttara Sector-13. Police recovered the hanging body of Nasrin from the drawing room of the flat after 1am, according to Dhaka Medical College Hospital sources. In Narayanganj: Police recovered the hanging body of a newly wed woman from her house at Afaz Nagar housing in Gabtoli area under Fatulla police station in the city yesterday. The deceased was identified as Shanta Begum, 20, who married Shahid Mia of the area seven months ago. They used to live in a rented flat in Afaz Nagar housing area. Md Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fatulla model police station, said police suspected that Shanta, daughter of Shahin Mia, might have committed suicide by hanging herself but detailed will be informed after getting the autopsy report. Shamimur Rahman, uncle of the deceased, filed a complaint with the police station accusing five persons, including her husband, police said. The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
