Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) is preparing to file a case against three suspended police officers of Jalalabad Police Station on charge of neglecting duty in Rajon murder incident in the city. The accused police officers are investigation officer (acting) Alamgir Hussen, sub-inspectors Aminul Islam and Zakir Hussen. SMP, following an order of the Police Headquarters, is preparing to file the case against the police officers under the Government Servants (Discipline & Appeal) Rule, 1985.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of SMP Mohammad Rahamath Ullah told The Independent that according to the process of the case, the accused police officers will be notified soon. On the other hand, SMP Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan told The Independent that a probe committee will be formed within next one week and the Police Headquarters will look after the whole process. Competent sources said that the probe committee will inquire into those accused police officers’ responsibility and if they are found guilty, they will lose their job permanently. On charge of neglecting duty in connection with the murder incident of minor boy Sheikh Md Samiul Alam Rajon on July 8, Alomgir Hussen was stand released on Monday. On the same allegation, two other police officers Zakir Hussen and Aminul Islam were also suspended earlier.
