Asian University for Women Photography Club (AUWPC) hosted its fifth photo carnival from April 7 to 8, says a press release.Talented young photographers from different parts of the world participated in the two-day exhibition with the theme, ‘Impossible’. This year, around 2,000 photographs were submitted in two categories _ single photographs and mobile photographs. The entries were narrowed down to 55 by the panel of judges.
Soumithra Biswas won the first prize for ‘Street 01’, Shahriar Hossain got second prize for ‘Busy Life’, and Rafeur Rahman was awarded third prize for ‘Duck 01’, while an honorable award went to Mohammad Nabial Haramain for ‘Dheki’. All the winners received a trophy and a certificate. The judges included acclaimed photographers Asharaful Awal, Tanvir Murad and Jannatul Mawa.An interesting session called ‘Chhobir Adda’ was conducted by the judges, who talked about how photographers create stories when they take pictures. “When you have a camera, you’re more powerful than others,” one of the judges said. Meanwhile, photos and videos were shared by members of North South University Photo Club and Islamic University of Technology Photography Society.The carnival ended with a cultural performance by students from 16 different Asian nations, showcasing the diversity of the university.
