Movement soon
to overthrow
‘unpopular’
govt : Nazrul

Describing the current government as 'unpopular and dispirited', BNP senior leader Nazrul Islam Khan yesterday said their party needs to launch a strong movement to dislodge it, reports UNB. "The current unpopular and demoralised government can't defeat us if we together with people can take to the streets against it with courage. We need to initiate a movement immediately to get a victory over it," he told a doa and milad mahfil. Dhaka city unit of Jatiyatabadi Hotel Sramik Dal organised the programme at BNP's Nayapaltan central office seeking salvation of the departed soul of its late president Mizan Hawlader. Nazrul, a BNP standing committee member, alleged that the government is gradually intensifying its repressive acts to subdue BNP leaders and activists only to cling onto power. "Under the circumstances, I think we shouldn't allow the government to carry out repression on us anymore." He claimed that people gave votes for BNP mayoral candidate in Comilla city polls braving various obstacles, pressures and threats by the ruling party as they have got fed up with the government's 'misrule and misdeeds'.
