Even though there is slim chance for any newcomer to be drafted into the Bangladesh’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, some players who were the part of national team earlier could make the way.
Because of his dazzling form in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Nasir Hossain is the one who forced his case stronger, according to a source of the national team management.
Nasir hit a century in the first match of the league against Mohammedan Sporting Club which sealed his side Gazi Group Cricketers victory. He however has been in good form since cracking a double century in the BCL. Thereafter he also hit a century in the Emerging Asia Cup. His consistency forced the selectors to rethink about and it has brightened his chance to comeback into the national team. He was dropped after the last year’s World T20.
The selectors however have already sent the squad to the BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon for the approval. There is chance that the team will be announced within a couple of days.
