Road crash kills 3, injures 20

At least three people were killed and 20 injured when a bus fell into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Simabari Bogra bazaar area in Shepur upazila of Bogra early yesterday.
The deceased were Saidul Islam, 30, of Kheyarghat, Tareq Hossen, 27, of Mondal Para and Abdul Karim, 45. All of them hailed from Saghata area of Gaibandha district.
Md Sohel Rana, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence in Sherpur told The Independent that a Gaibandha-bound passenger-laden bus Shapha Paribahan overturned into a roadside ditch as the driver lost the control over the steering in the area around 12.45 am, leaving two dead on the spot and injuring others. The injured were taken to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, local health complexes and clinics in Sherpur, Raiganj and Bogra town. One of the injured succumbed to his injury in the hospital.On information, members of three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and conducted rescue operation with the aid of local people.
