RANGPUR: Acting Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Humayun Kabir yesterday warned that stern actions against police personnel would be taken if they failed to maintain law and order situation, reports BSS.
He directed the police force for showing zero tolerance in curbing anarchy, terrorism, militancy, drug trafficking and other crimes for ensuring safety and security of the people everywhere in Rangpur division.
Putting special emphasis on stopping trafficking and trading of drugs and narcotics, he also said that members of police will be awarded for good deeds and punished severely for wrong doings.
The DIG was distributing awards among the police members of different districts under Rangpur Range for rendering excellent services in curbing crimes at a ceremony arranged at his conference room.
All eight superintendents of police (SP) from Rangpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts and high police officials attended the ceremony.
The DIG distributed medals among ten police members for their extra ordinary and excellent performances in improving law and order situation. Superintendent of Police, Rangpur, Abdur Razzaque received the medal for making the district best under Rangpur range in maintaining law and order situation.
Besides, Officer-in-Charge of Rangpur Sadar police station Abdul Kader Zilani received the award for the fifth time for his extra ordinary performances in improving the law and order situation curbing all sorts of crimes.
The other award winner police members are Assistant Superintendent of Police of Lalmonirhat Adibul Islam, Inspector of the District Special Branch of Panchagarh Police Masud Rana, Lalmonirhat Sadar Court Inspector ABM Rezaul Karim, Sub-inspector Golam Mortuza of Thakurgaon sadar police station, SI Abdul Kuddus of Lalmonirhat sadar police, SI Nurul Islam of Thakurgaon sadar police, Traffic Police Sergeant of Patgram in Lalmonirhat Manjur Hossain, ASI Abdul Rouf of Gaibandha Sadar police and Constable Moyez Uddin Khondker of Hatibandha police in Lalmonirhat.
