Tania Hossain-acted ‘Prothom Partho’ to be staged today

‘Prothom Partho’, a much-acclaimed theatre production of Abdullah-Al-Mamun Theatre School Praktoni, starring popular TV and theatre actress-model-anchor Tania Hossain in a lead role, will be staged today at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.
Popular theatre troupe Theatre School Praktoni has brought out the play ‘Prothom Partho’ on stage three years ago. Later the name of the school was changed to Abdullah-Al-Mamun Theatre School Praktoni, in the honour of Abdullah-Al-Mamun. Tania Hossain plays the role of Droupodi in the play.
‘Prothom Partho’, which has been written by noted academic Buddhadeb Basu and directed by Joyita Mohalnabish, depicts the ‘War of Kurukshetra’ fought between the Pandavas and the Kauravas for the power of Hastinapur, based on the great Indian epic ‘The Mahabharata’. The play opens prior to the beginning of the ‘War of Kurukshetra’.
The other important cast of the play includes Md Nur Jaman Raja, Shireen Bakul, Golam Shahariar Shikto, Mohammed Monowar Hossain, Parvez Rana Polash,  Mizanur Rahman, Nafiz Badhon and Shamim Reza.
