Singer Kamal Ahmed, who is from the Bangladesh Civil Service (Information) and has been working with Bangladesh Betar and BTV for the last 26 years, delighted the audience with the rendition of Rabindra Sangeet at a musical evening at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital on Sunday evening. At the programme, he rendered popular tracks of Tagore songs like ‘Nisi Na Pohate’, ‘Asa Jaoar Pother Dhare’, ‘Dinguli Mor Sonar Kanchai Roilo Na’, ‘Sei To Ami Chai’, ‘Emni Kore Jai Jodi Din Jakna’, ‘Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo’, ‘Mon Je Bole Chini Chini’, ‘Je Tomai Chare Charuk’, ‘Aakash Vora Sujotara’ and ‘Vora Thak Smritisudhai’. During the entire programme, he was accompanied by Md Nasiruddin on Guitar, Bidyut Roy on Octopad, Enamul Haq Omar on Tabla, Ruptanu Dassharma on Keyboard and Sunil Chandra Das on Behala. Kamal Ahmed is the director of External Service, Bangladesh Betar. He has a Master’s degree in Soil Science from University of Dhaka. Alongside one mixed album, he has released fourteen solo albums.
