Govt officials asked to ensure law and order in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: The authorities concerned  at a meeting in Rajshahi have instructed the district magistrates and law enforcers to put in their best efforts to ensure law and order everywhere in society, reports BSS. They said the district level administrative and police officials and others concerned should  have to come forward with all  their efforts to maintain law and order at any cost to fulfill the  hopes and aspirations of the public in general.
They were addressing a divisional meeting relating to law and order held in the conference hall of Circuit House on Friday evening.
Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Senior Secretary to Home Ministry Dr Mozammel Haque Khan addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively with Helaluddin Ahmed, Commissioner of Rajshahi division, in the chair.
Deputy Inspector General of Police of Rajshahi range Iqbal Bahar, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Md Shamsuddin, Deputy Commissioners from all eight districts and divisional heads of BGB, RAB, Ansar-VDP, Department of Narcotics Control, Fire Service and Civil Defense and others concerned attended the meeting.
Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the law-enforcers should always play a supportive role in successful implementation of the present government's charter of change and Vision-2021 as the success of a government largely depends on law and order situation in the country.
He categorically said: "Committing crime against humanity and unleashing terrorism  can't be a part of any movement or any norm.
All the anti-people and anti-development activities must be eliminated with officials-public collaborative efforts".
He expressed his optimism that Bangladesh would become a middle-income country by 2021 if the present development spree in all sectors continues.
The development programmes carried out in all sectors, including Agriculture, Industry, Power, Education, Health, Investment, Food Security, Social Safety net, Women Empowerment, Environment, Information and Communication and Technology are remarkable.
Cabinet Secretary Bhuiyan said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for the last six and a half years for the well being of the people.
He urged the district level administrative and police officials and others concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for welfare of the people.
