CHITTAGONG: Police arrested three dacoits with fire arms and ammunitions from Eco park area of Shillkup village under Banskhali upazia early yesterday, reports BSS.
Police recovered two single barrel guns, four round bullets, two daggers and three masks.
The arrestees were identified as Jakir Hossain, 28, Ataur Rahman and Nur Islam all hailed from Banskhali upazila of the district.
Naimul Islam, additional superintendent of Police (special branch), said on secret information a police team arrested them at a residence of Eco Park area of Shillkup village under Banskhali upazia at 4am early yesterday while they were taking preparation to commits a robbery.
The arrested are the members of an organised dacoit gang who always committed dacoity in the city and its adjacent district, the Naimul Islam added.
Police said, the arrested in primary interrogation confessed that they were taking preparation to commit a robbery in an office in the city.
