‘Criminal’ killed in Jessore ‘gunfight’

A suspected terrorist was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of criminals at Kholadanga in Jessore town early yesterday, reports UNB. On information about the gunfight, police conducted a drive in the area around 3:45am and recovered the bullet-hit body of Rajib, 29, son of Mohor Ali, said AKM Azmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station. The law enforcers also recovered a revolver, one bullet, five bombs, two machetes and a sharp weapon, from the scene. Victim's mother Aklima Khatun alleged that plainclothes police picked Rajib up from the area on April 3. But Rajib, an accused in 10 cases, including that of murder, escaped from the police custody on April 5 and he was found dead early today, the OC said.
