Rain, gusty winds likely

As the Bengali month of "Chaitra" entered its 14th day yesterda, the slow building up of heat, influenced by a westerly low pressure hanging over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and its adjoining areas, may trigger rain with strong winds and hailstorms at isolated places today (Wednesday). The Met Office said there could be gusty winds and hailstorms at isolated places in the country, particularly in  the north-eastern region of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
In Dhaka, the temperature rose to 32.8 degrees Celsius on Monday, but it came down to 30.6C yesterday. Similarly, in Jessore the mercury dropped to 33.4 C. But neighbouring Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature (34C) in the country yesterday, the same as Monday.
