Gaibandha: A former UP member was stabbed to death over ‘his extramarital affair’ at Manohorpur village in Palashbari upazila on Wednesday night, reports UNB. Quoting locals, Mahmudur Alam, officer-in-charge of Palashbari Police Station, said there was an extramarital affair between Mahmudur Rahman and Shapla Begum, wife of Goffar Miah, a resident of Jamira village of the same upazila. Goffar Miah caught his wife Shapla and Mahmudur red handed at his father-in-law’s house around 9.00pm. At one stage, Goffar along with his associate Shahinur Rahman attacked Mahmudur and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured. Later, Mahmudur died on way to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital. Informed, police recovered the body and sent in to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Police also arrested Goffar and Shahinur in this connection.
